Kiln Hire

 Our kiln hire and firing service is an affordable way to fire your work to completion. We offer standard bisque and glaze firing programmes but can discuss any bespoke programmes and temperatures required.  

How to book the kiln

Send us a message via the contact form and tell us what you need to fire in as much detail as possible and we will get back to you within 48 hours.

We need to know the firing range of the clay and glazes used.

Tell us about your clay - is it earthenware, stoneware or porcelain?

We need to know the temperature in degrees centigrade or Orton pyrometric cone number you would like to fire to.

Tell us if you need a bisque or a glaze firing.

Have you fired your clay or glaze before? You may need to arrange a test tile.

Important things to note

The booking is for the whole kiln.

Delivery of work to the studio is by appointment only.

An email notification will be sent to let you know your work is ready to collect.

If a firing is unable to go ahead due to any errors on the part of Anna Jones Ceramics, a refund or credit will be issued to you.

We allow a 72-hour window before your firing date to qualify for a refund. 

The customer is responsible for preparing their work for bisque and glaze firing. 

It is essential to ensure the base of the work is glaze-free when in contact with the kiln shelf and has a 1cm clearance on the sides.

It is recommended that a test tile is created and fired before booking.
